Trent Park Museum Diorama Model

This exhibit for a new museum in London shows how the house was used as a prisoner of war camp during the Second World War, and how the German officers kept here were the subject of covert surveillance. ‘Secret Listeners’, staff working in the basement, would record their conversations discovering vital military intelligence. The model acts as storyteller and guide. A three-dimensional tableau explaining the layout of the house and the relationship of the prisoners with the British army intelligence staff, to create an overall picture of ‘Cockfosters Camp’. A complex historic story, revealed in one complete artefact.
