At the end of September I had a very special visitor come to view the model of Trent Park. Helen Lederer, renowned actress, writer and comedian has a unique connection to the history of the house and the story behind it being a prison camp for high ranking German officers in World War II. Her grandfather Arnost, as a refugee and native German speaker worked as a secret listener for the British Army helping to gain intelligence from hidden microphones eavesdropping on prisoners’ conversations. Helen has a passionate interest in the project to create a new museum at Trent park and has worked tirelessly as a trustee. It was wonderful to see her reaction to the model.

My clients at the new ‘Trent Park House of Secrets’ museum also came to check on progress last week. I showed the director of the museum Giuseppe Albano some of the ideas for the next stage of construction, dealing with the interiors, which will be highly detailed and full of period furniture and figures, telling the story of Trent Park’s vital role in gathering information from German officers imprisoned in the house.
