Work continues on a new museum installation

Things are busier than ever, as I’m deep into the largest project I have created since working for the Royal Collection Trust and building a model of Windsor Castle –  You can have a look at that on my blog page, or better still, visit Windsor Castle and see the model for yourselves in the Moat Room Visitor Centre.
Back to now, and work continues on a huge model for a new museum. Trent Park was once the home of the Sassoon family. Sir Edward Sassoon was the head of a Jewish merchant dynasty who had moved to London in the 1870s. He only enjoyed the property for a few years dying in 1912 and leaving Trent Park and a large fortune to his son Philip.
In 1939 under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Kendrick at MI-19, Trent Park house and grounds were transformed into a state-of-the art surveillance centre. High ranking captured German officers were held there and kept in great comfort, unaware that beneath the house a small army of secret listeners where bugging their conversations. A huge amount of valuable military intelligence was gleaned by this covert operation. You can learn more about this fascinating new museum at Trent Park House of Secrets
The model I have been asked to build will illustrate the relationship between the life of the prisoners in the principle rooms of this stately home, and the work of the secret intelligence officers hidden just a few metres away below their feet. The architectural layout of the house is to be shown in full detail with cut-away sections to enable individual room interiors to be seen, complete with figures, furniture and lighting.
The work is likely to take ten months to complete and right now the basics of the walls of the building are coming together. You can follow progress on my Instagram page @btmodelhouses
